Does Anyone Have Experience With Dental Implants?
I’m scheduled for an upper incisor titanium implant, recommended by my dentist of 30+ yrs and my periodontist. However I’ve recently heard of 2 aquaintances who had implants done, had problems, and actually had them taken out.
I don’t know what the problems were as I don’t know them well enough to call and ask, but infection was mentioned.
Does anyone have personal experience with implants who can shed more light on the issue?
Thanks
I have two implants for over a year and haven’t had any problems. I went to a specialist to get them done (not a general dentist). It was a long process but definitely worth it.
My husband had a titanium implant in a lower tooth and regrets it to this day. It took forever to heal, he still feels it–it’s like it’s trying to come out of his jaw, and said if there was another alternative he would remove it. He said it wasn’t worth the money he spent on the implant.
Good luck. Have you talked to your dentist/periodontist about these concerns? I definitely would before going through with the procedure.
If an upper tooth implant gets into your sinus cavity, you can have severe infections.
people with uncontrolled diabetes (who didnt take his medication) tend to get infection after dental procedure such as implant placement.diabetes impaited healing, causing the failure og the jaw bone to ‘merge’ around the implant and hold it.i think implant is better placed on the lower jaw than upper as lower jaw bone is more dense and bulky than the upper.
